This 12-day Kenya safari offers a beautifully paced journey through the country’s most iconic landscapes and wildlife regions. Beginning and ending in Nairobi, the itinerary combines city highlights with unforgettable game viewing in Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and the world-renowned Masai Mara. From close encounters with elephants beneath Mount Kilimanjaro to boat safaris, walking experiences, and classic Big Five game drives, the safari blends diverse activities with carefully selected luxury lodges and tented camps, creating a rich and immersive Kenyan adventure.

Days 01 - 02: Nairobi: History & Conservation
  • Arrival: Meet-and-greet at JKIA and transfer to Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages for a two-night stay in a historic garden setting.

  • Sightseeing: A full day exploring the city’s highlights, including a game drive in Nairobi National Park, visiting the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, lunch at Carnivore, and hand-feeding residents at the Giraffe Center.

  • The Experience: Drive to Tortilis Camp, located in a private conservancy on the border of Amboseli National Park.

  • Highlights: Exceptional views of Mount Kilimanjaro, photographing Amboseli’s famous “Big Tusker” elephants, and a guided walking safari led by local Maasai guides to learn about the smaller details of the bush.

  • Activities: Visit Hell’s Gate National Park to explore the volcanic scenery on foot or by bicycle (safe due to the absence of large predators).
  • Stay: Overnight at Loldia House, a 1930s traditional homestead on the shores of Lake Naivasha, perfect for relaxation and lakeside birdwatching.
  • Transition: Start the day with a boat safari on Lake Naivasha to spot hippos, then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.

  • The Cliff: Stay at The Cliff Nakuru, a boutique tented camp perched 100 meters above the lake with panoramic views.

  • Wildlife: Focus on spotting Black and White Rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and the park’s famous birdlife/flamingos during game drives through acacia woodlands.

  • The Heart of the Mara: Transfer to Entim Camp, uniquely positioned within the reserve near major Mara River crossing points.
  • Highlights: Three days dedicated to finding the Big Five and witnessing the Great Migration (seasonal).
  • Optional: An early morning Hot Air Balloon safari over the Mara plains.
  • Return to the City: Drive back to Nairobi for last-minute shopping before checking into the Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Hurlingham (or Airport branch).

  • Final Transfer: Use the dedicated hotel shuttle for your departure flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The rates provided start at a minimum of 2 travellers to maximum 6. There is a single room supplement for a 3rd or 5th traveller requiring their own room and if a triple share room is preferred, please request this and I will re-quote a room to be shared amongst 3.
